Allscripts to acquire McKesson’s Enterprise Information Solutions business

Allscripts will acquire McKesson’s Enterprise Information Solutions health IT business for $185 million cash, planning to offer Paragon to small hospitals while continuing to market Allscripts Sunrise to larger health systems.

  1. Granted we don’t know how much political influence the person who shared the Judy/Joe exchange has (or if he just has other issues with wealthy people or wealthy women) but this quote is what really stands out to me:

    ” we did spend tens of billions of dollars to encourage people to buy their products and we made billionaires of the executives of these companies. They’ve had fun – now it’s our turn.”

    If that is the general consensus among the people in Washington who really influence healthcare policy and spending Judy and her counterparts at other vendors might want to find out for sure if it wasn’t just a temporary burst of tone deafness Mr. Biden was responding to.

    This is part of the reason that perhaps Cerner may have swallowed the whole hook on something beyond just conversions, installations, and trainings which are hard enough to begin with.
