Having come across more than one Indian origin guys raised in USA by Indian parents who immigrated to USA..and almost all of them were involved in get rich quick scheme by shipping shoddy systems in Health IT, it would be good to know what exactly drives these kids? Healthcare in USA is based on trust and these guys misuse it. They can’t be that naive or is it that greed conquers all ? But to what end ? These guys are raised by very hard working parents who only taught them everything right. Wonder if it schooling in USA that got to these impressionable guys. Don’t see an IIT/IIM pass out doing such fraud in IT even if they had ample opportunity.
I don’t think greed is exclusive of any specific nationality, not should Outcome Health’s failures be attributed to the ethnicity of its executives. There are saints and crooks everywhere. The idea of selling waiting room ads in an era where organizations are trying to minimize wait times as much as possible was always a horrible investment idea. I have a hard time feeling bad for Goldman when didn’t think about that for more than 30 seconds.
Extremely rare to find likes of Holmes of Asian ethnicity for sure and that too who immigrated to USA solely for finding better rates for their labor as compared to back home in Asia. The mindset is very different but maybe their kids raised in USA will identify with Holme’s get rich quick no matter the cost outlook. Risk taking and leave alone illegal risk taking just is not present in blood of the Asians.
Likelihood of providing focused eyeballs to an entire perosnalized drug advt in a clinical setting is much more than while – say early morning browsing of news or commute. Idea was great but these kids really did not know how to run a business in healthcare IT. Makes for a neat case study in business schools for sure – How to screw up billion dollar opportunity by fudging books. All they needed was patience which a young kid rarely has…
An equally stunning “reverse racism” comment that ignores very real, very recent examples of corruption in South Korea, China, etc. A quick Google on Samsung and recent history of the South Korean presidency would do you well. There is an entire “Corruption in China” Wikipedia page. The CCP puts people to death fairly regularly for corruption related crimes. Or maybe just think about the whole idea of North Korea for a few minutes. If you are attributing personality traits to an entire ethnicity’s “blood” you should probably take a step back, and then a few more steps back for good measure.
Just stop attributing things to race and ethnicity. It serves nothing except confirmation bias of your own prejudices.
It always baffles me when people feel comfortable posting blatantly racist content on a professional website. More, it always disappoints me when that site is moderated and the moderator lets it through.
The documented case of eCW Meaningful Use fraud and fines is worth noting,
