Your implicit recommendation that readers “chat up” pretty ladies to figure out if they’re the real deal is insulting. I’m tired of proving to this industry that I’m smart and savvy enough to belong here.

    [From Mr H] I would absolutely suggest verifying the expertise of any attractive booth personnel regardless of gender. Surely you don’t think companies are above hiring pretty but unqualified people, male or female, to get the attention of attendees. However, my experience is that 95 percent of those hired attention-getters are female, and assuming you’re visiting the booth to obtain information, it’s not hard to discern whether that person’s job qualification is to provide it. Attendees shouldn’t have to deal with anyone whose knowledge level suggests they were hired for some other reason.

  2. We’re in Las Vegas, and people have issues with booth babes? I’m getting so sick of the self-important blow-hards in this industry.
