  1. Does anyone know why the earning of the HIT vendors are headed south? Has the government $$$ trough reached empty?

  2. The downturn in revenue is something anticipated for a long time (at least by my company, which is not CareFusion).

    Meaningful Use didn’t really cause people who weren’t going to buy an EHR to buy one, it caused people who would already have bought an EHR to accelerate their timelines and buy one sooner. It moved sales that would have happened in 2013-2015 into 2010-2012 instead. The next few years will likely see smaller than normal growth in the industry.
