  1. What a day to announce an accelerated deployment when you’re in the same news-cycle as your vendor’s nation-wide outage. The IT gods play wicked games with us mere geeks.

    • Don’t forget the announcement the day before about cutting 80k VA jobs! Really an incredible combination.

      • I think if you’d look at the recent hearings, VA was saying Cerner would require a 10% increase in staff when deployed. I may be wrong on 10% but I know VA was saying it would need more staffing to make Cerner work; and work SAFELY. Collin’s taking a substantial risk. He either doesn’t believe what VA’s been saying, or he’s a gambler with patient lives.   3. At what point do we quit pretending Oracle has an EMR suitable for the VAs. needs and revert back to VistA ?
