House bill would scrap VA’s $20 billion-plus electronic health record program

  1. Nobody saw the DoD/Cerner implosion coming…… hold on…. I need to extract my tongue from my cheek. Funny enough I remember working for 2 companies that installed Oracle to “streamline operational efficiency.” Which was a catchy phrase for dumping office work on sales reps with order systems that took hours to input orders that used to take 10 minutes.

  2. Curious if HVAC will ask why DHA could do it, and VHA could not. Maybe DHA has cut some corners? And, this drill becomes self defeating with bills like this because no one will want to join a contract supporting VA if it looks like the whole thing going to get pulled. Finally, isn’t interoperability about different systems speaking a common language so we don’t need to drive everyone into the same EHR because they are, all, interoperable? I’m missing a lot, I’m sure.
