I had to look into this again because I had forgotten the details, but the NCI Cancer Moonshot project begun under Joe Biden and Barack Obama is different from the Cancer Moonshot 2020 project bankrolled by the infamous NantHealth CEO Patrick Soon-Shiong (who coincidentally announced his project ONE DAY before Biden’s 2016 announcement). Soon-Shiong was actually sued over his use of the doppelgänger and his project has since been renamed Cancer Breakthroughs 2020. This is the same guy that STAT blasted a few weeks ago for potentially embezzling millions of dollars through “charitable giving” to a research university. Some have speculated that his budding friendship with Donald Trump suggests he is reaching to take over the NCI’s Moonshot project.
