MidMichigan Health selects Epic to replace its existing Cerner and Allscripts EHRs, for a total project cost of $55 million that the health system expects will pay for itself within six years.
Tip to MidMichigan, Changing from Cerner to Epic will not “pay” for itself in 6 years. LOL. I am willing to bet you on that. Its a nice PR statement to send out though. Cute but not realistic. There is no way to save money changing from Cerner/Allscripts to Epic or vice versa. Please send out a release in a year to tell us how you saved 9 million next year and each year after to total about 55 million. Curious to see that article…LOL
