Who are the providers/vendors on this panel? Would suggest some transparency there…

Also, not sure how you come to such negative conclusions when there were only 6 negative comments and over 20 positive comments. Only two comments suggest that the methodology is suspect, yet that is the first conclusion drawn.

Just seems that HIStalk has an agenda and is slanted to the negative in drawing conclusions about KLAS. Let’s not forget that KLAS DOES NOT charge providers for most of their material, and if they do the cost is minimal.

[From Mr H] I think it’s asking a bit much to include panel member names — just as you didn’t provide yours with this comment, I’m fairly sure the respondents and their employers wouldn’t be comfortable going on the record with their thoughts (and for that matter, KLAS doesn’t provide its respondent names either). I have no agenda — I just asked the question and ran every single response exactly as provided with no editorial comments of my own at all. The conclusions are in no particular order except that I jotted them down last, so the negative comments are first since I read them first.

KLAS is not perfect, but it does provide some useful information and commentary. KLAS should be used by physicians and management as one data point among several key items when evaluating a product/service. As a vendor rep, I think the consistency in positive results with KLAS should be the most important. If a vendor is all over the map, it is a sign that their installs are probably all over the map. Or, if the vendor is consistently poor, that is also a bad sign. If anything, it is something to dig into further with a vendor to ask for their opinion on their KLAS scores.
