2023 Q1 digital health funding: Investing like it’s 2019

One of the most influential tech documents of this century has been the Agile Manifesto. The manifesto itself clocks in at a sweet 68 words and the 12 principles that make the manifesto actionable at another 180 words. Just the press release for “Trustworthy AI in Healthcare” is about a 1000 words!
What made the Agile Manifesto so influential was not only the brevity and clarity of purpose but:
1. Its specific lack of rigid prescriptions (“Welcome changing requirements, even late in development.”)
2. Delegation of important decisions to the lowest level possible (“The best architectures, requirements, and designs emerge from self-organizing teams.”)
3. Flexibility to evolve – learning from mistakes (“At regular intervals, the team reflects on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts its behavior accordingly”).
Not coincidentally, the manifesto shares those characteristics with another hugely influential document of the last 300 years – the US constitution.
In other words – we need an AI Manifesto that is more like the Agile Manifesto.
