  1. After getting training from WIPRO at WIPRO’s expense, employees use the skill sets picked up during employment at WIPRO for dual employment. Unethical in every way, as WIPRO trained you to do the job when nobody would even offer u a job. The graduates of India that are actually employable mostly find employment outside India in developed economies. For employees that actually have own developed skills sets , free market economy principle applies for them and the HR in India is sensitive to these ground realities. Can’t paint everyone with same brush stroke.

    • Yeah, I’m going to disagree here. Unless you think that employees are chattel property?

Once employees are off the clock, that time is their own and what they do with it is their business. So long as they don’t spill Wipro corporate secrets and IP, Wipro has no say in private activities.

I do seem to remember a long-ago employer trying to implement a policy of “No second jobs for OUR employees”. I also remember thinking that was B.S. and unenforceable.

      • In developing economies the sole reason anyone gets accepted for a 2nd job is because of IP they are privy to – thanks to the first job. There are plenty of non IP exposed labour available, but the employer prefers to hire an already trained on IP worker. and worse this is the IP of the clients that WIPRO has signed NDA with. This IP exposed employee commands a salary much higher than a Zumba instructor – if u will. Very rare to find a techie in India working in non-tech 2nd job. In such rare instances where there is no conflict of interest the employer actually encourages music/sports/culinary/arts skills and gives them paid time for shows etc they may need to be participate.
