The VA awards Lockheed Martin-owned contractor Systems Made Simple and its software supplier Epic a seven-year contract worth as much as $624 million if all contract options are exercised.

  1. Epic at HIMSS 15 stated on their booth that a hospital has never replaced their EHR with another vendor. Ooops.

  2. @SMS: VA is just scheduling, but yes.
    @Smartfood99: This is an acquisition and Banner was already Cerner AFAIK. They are opting to streamline to one EMR and the Banner install I believe is more mature/older.

  3. I hope that the MASS really work, a lot of people is using it, but I think that a good advance in medicine will be the opportunity for patients to handle and manage their own medical records, that file is personal and belongs to them.
