Banner Health will convert its newly acquired University of Arizona Health Network from its existing Epic systems to Banner’s Cerner platform. UAHN implemented Epic in 2013 at a cost of $115 million.

Re: the MASS award. Didn’t they propose Epic? Does that mean DOD is Cerner and VA has Epic?
Epic at HIMSS 15 stated on their booth that a hospital has never replaced their EHR with another vendor. Ooops.
@SMS: VA is just scheduling, but yes.
@Smartfood99: This is an acquisition and Banner was already Cerner AFAIK. They are opting to streamline to one EMR and the Banner install I believe is more mature/older.
I hope that the MASS really work, a lot of people is using it, but I think that a good advance in medicine will be the opportunity for patients to handle and manage their own medical records, that file is personal and belongs to them.
