    Sounds funny, as phrased. If the systems are aging and unreliable, they might want to accelerate (or unfreeze, or begin) upgrades of those legacy systems.

    Of course if the problem is a rather undisciplined and chaotic IT environment, then yeah, you might want a temporary freeze to organize things.

    If the problem is under-investment in the legacy systems, then once again, a freeze seems counter-productive.

  2. It is shameful that we still have no knowledge of the extent of the adverse events and errors caused by HIT.

    • Judy, I don’t think shamefull is accurate. But, for certain we know more about what’s going on with care with HIT than without. It was very hard or impossible to analyze the ink on your hands!
