Athenahealth to lay off 36 in Birmingham area

A spokesperson with the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affair reports that athenahealth has filed notice to announce the layoffs of 36 Birmingham-based employees, effective March 6.

  1. Thank you for sharing your toment. It is a really good example of whats so dumb about this ae we are in. People are so busy ‘bending over’ that true patient healthcare is the last thought. Healthcare staff should be required to only treat the patient and document their findings. Cleaning services, customer service and hand holding should be left to the rest of the staff. Oh wait, they are all in India.
