To Beauty “Re: Press Releases. To Beastly – ... opinion of the those who are in the business of press releases?..."

I'm not really in the "business of press releases," but I've written and followed up on my fair share. It used to be that press releases were strictly for the press, but they've morphed into a marketing tactic, especially now that services like PRNewswire and Business Wire get so much search engine traffic. If you're looking for media coverage, a vanilla press release isn't going to do much for you. Better to leverage a PR firm with strong relationships in the space who can help you find and leverage a newsworthy hook. They might just utiliize a press release as their vehicle, but their media relationships will be what really gets you coverage.

Regarding: From: Mr. H “Re: Charles McCall heading to prison. That news made my day.” - That makes my day also. It took long enough... I'm a former HBOC employee that, fortunately, sold my small amount of stock before the McKesson acquisition. However, I know a lot of people who lost a lot of retirement savings on that debacle (I know, you shouldn't have all your eggs in one basket). The prison term of 10 years is probably appropriate, but $1 million is a drop in his bucket based on all he made during his term at HBOC, while keeping that stock price on a steady (too smooth to be believed) upward climb. Justice is (partially) served.
