Re Winkenwerder and torture: Since I’m on a “show me” kick today. Show me the proof Winkenwerder approved torture. Look here: http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200502/s1300023.htm. Yes the accusations are out there that physicians participated in torture, but there was no conclusive evidence and Winkenwerder wasn’t implicated as giving the OK to torture prisoners. Please don’t make HISTalk a forum for bashing the admistration of either current or former presidential administrations.

RE SynaMed: Will vendors ever stop trying to sell me a HIPAA-compliant application? Show me in the Privacy or Security rules where an application is compliant. Only covered entities (and now business associates) can be compliant.
