Beltbuster. Looks like the trip to PHX is so they can all get a group hug and train on Touchworks, Healthmatics and now iMedica’s 8.1 product which Allscripts/Misys will own at the bargain basement price of $12 Million. Nice Deal for a copy of a .net PM/EMR system that’s already CCHIT certified.

You could spend four times that and 4 years on off shore (cheap slave labor) Indian development and end up with a shoddy EMR.. no PM and tons of misspelled screen labels… I think eCW just reached for a depends…

Eclipsys layoffs – yes, Eclipsys laid off 5 people in the alliance group. This group has been folded into Dr. Diane Bradley’s Quality and Outcomes Group. This is so we can focus on helping our customers increase quality and improve outcomes, not just prep customers for site visits.

The skill set these people possessed were not clinical and/or statistical in nature. Dr. Bradley’s group includes PhD’s, MD’s, MBA’s and so on. While some customers aren’t happy with one or two of these layoffs, most are thrilled with the direction we are taking.

This is nothing personal agianst these people (I know and like them all – I wish them well). This is just the unfortunate reality of being in the wrong place (wrong position) at the wrong time.

Confirmed. Eclipsys is laying of many people in an effort to please shareholders. The worst move was the Alliance group, approx 5 key people. Bad move Eclipsys. Hope the clients don’t revolt.

Re: Kathleen Earley. She cleaned up a big mess at Trizetto, and helped them to score some big deals. Don’t know why new owners Apax wanted to show her the door, but any company in need of a president/COO type who dosen’t take a look at her is being just plain foolish. BTW: I’m not Kathleen Earley or her mother.
