“One man’s hodgepodge of data is another man’s super crunching food.” The privately funded Center for Evidence Based eHealth in on the verge of launching a study on regional EMR data sets to “super crunch” seemingly spurious data points found in the electronic continuum of care records purporting strong propensity for more accurate diagnosis.

Predictive analytics is the newest yet to be developed tool for prime time medicine and if SPSS can increase awareness of Clementine software, predictive analytics will become main stream in healthcare. http://www.spss.com/clementine.

Thinking by numbers might be the new generation of smart medical diagnosis and should be emphasized as part of the routine medical training. http://www.amazon.com/Super-Crunchers-Thinking-Numbers-Smart/dp/0553805401. I can imagine routinely super crunching terabytes of data elements mined from collective electronic health records to determine patterns of synchronicity.

It was a slow weekend for HIT.
