Ethical dilemmas…both are actually NO dilemmas.
As many others have suggested you should refuse both the CEO and the GM mentioned the media venue of your blog.
Using the public stage of the blog ONLY on their authoritharian terms kind of reminds of the way darker, evil regimes (communists, fascists, nazis etc…) used to sarcastically manipulate the public opinion.
I think this is the electronic line you know you should draw in the proverbial sand.

My suggestion to both of your ethical dilemmas: don’t run either of them and, in the future, name names. One seems to be living under the “We believe we’re truly better than you and thus can be hypocritical” school and the other is living under the “we bait and switch because we’re semi-incompetent at communicating our internal policies” school.

Regarding the ethical dilemma’s: In both cases you seem to think that each company has something to say that would be of interest to your reads. I think you should trust your judgment on this point (everyone reads this blog due to the content you chose, so your judgment must be fairly good here). However, I would recommend requesting the one CEO to rescind the internal ban on this blog in return for doing the article (good for them, good for the blog). As for the second CEO snubbing the blog, I would not take it personnel and do the GM if in your judgment it would be interesting stuff for people to know.

Agreed, don’t interview either. Chances are they don’t really have anything worth saying, at least in this forum of open, call it like you see it, opinion and news.
