Good interview, but many of his responses are simply another CIO toeing the Meditech line. I seldom come across practicing clinicians that describe Meditech as easy-to-use or that it creates efficiencies in patient care, espcecially in the ED. I liked your question about whether the physicians were employees or not, clearly highlighting the divide between whether or not they can be forced to use the system. Isn't this a problem?!?!? In my utopia, healthcare IT solutions have buy-in and support from front-line clinicians and IT simply provides the customer service and tools to make it work. After all, they are not at the bedside.
