Comprehensive, didactic and optimistic interview. Have you ever heard of the Texarkana RHIO in 2005? Of course not. Could not get the small town battling hospitals to agree to agree.

Jump ahead to 2008 in Sunny Florida. Dr. Holmquest brilliantly demonstrates the need for interstate commerce of health information, to summarize the process. Our wonderful and friendly “Snowbirds” from Canada spend their better months of the year in residence in Florida and would place great value on their Canadian health information for care they will receive in Florida residency. In this example, I think International Exchange of Health Information would be in order and an encouragement for the flow of Interstate Health Information within the United States.

Subsequently, consider aspects of funding, although not an adequate model for utility, how does "Habitat for Humanity" continue to produce societal benefits? Could "Health Information Exchange for Humanity" be a source of baseline infrastructure? It appears to me, Medicity's admirable role in CalRHIO is more “philanthropic-like” than revenue generating for the company. No disrespect to Perot, but I'm sure their pockets can absorb the cost at this point. M-m-m-m-m. Perot / Texarkana. Is there a vague subtlety established here?

I am a Baby-Boomer. I want my MTV and my USRHIO!

$300 million! Far too expensive. New technology (Web 2.0) can do it for 1/15 of the cost and make an operating profit.
