Agent 86 - I was thinking the same thing with Mayo...until I remembered that there is more than just Mayo Jacksonville and they DO use Lawson all over all Mayo's. Mayo Main has the rights to the code for Lawson and have made Frankenstein attempts at making new software in their facilities (as well as OLLLLLLD 3M).

Mayo Jax does use Cerner for pretty much EVERYTHING clinical...and Lawson is really only used for Materials Management in that facility.

Cheers

RE: Lawson

I think he is talking about the Clinical Documentation/EMR Project (Cerner's stuff I think) I can't imagine how the Lawson GL, Supply Chain and HR stuff fits in with that scenario....

Hrundi - what are they trying to do - view granular billing data in the financial system and then aggregate it?

Re: Partners Soarian and INVISIONForever's (love the name) comment - look at the modules they are buying and the previous announcement about SOA. They apparently will use the registration, adt, access management then SOA connect that to their existing billing and SOA the info to the claims scrubber. Probably the patient connect information will also be SOA views of the disparate applications. I have heard John Glaser talk and display their various apps on the HIS and revenue cycle side. This will be a real technology win if they can pull this off.

Interesting about the lack of an insurance master in scheduling. Without that information - it'd be hard to deliver referral, authorization, copay, and deductible rules to the scheduler.
